About the position

The Travel/Bookkeeping Systems Senior Analyst - Digital Product Management role at American Express is a pivotal position within the Back Office Financials & Reconciliation team. This team is dedicated to providing the necessary capabilities to meet the evolving compliance, regulatory, and financial accounting needs of the global American Express Travel and Lifestyle Services (TLS) business. As part of the broader Global Platforms & Services team (GPX), this role focuses on building foundational capabilities through services, data, and automation that enhance customer and agent experiences within TLS, ultimately bringing American Express card membership to life. In this role, you will be responsible for delivering software solutions that address the operational, compliance, regulatory, and informational needs of TLS, particularly in the areas of travel bookkeeping, supplier statement reconciliation, and supplier settlement. You will work closely with various stakeholders, including business partners, other product teams, and technology teams, to coordinate the delivery of end-to-end software solutions and process enhancements. Your contributions will be recognized as you help shape the future of the TLS business, ensuring that American Express continues to provide the world's best customer experience every day. The position requires a proactive approach to gathering and analyzing business requirements, writing user stories, and defining acceptance criteria to meet those requirements. You will also be involved in designing, configuring, and testing software solutions within the TLS Back Office application, CentralCommand, and partnering with the technology team to deliver custom software solutions that meet the needs of the business.

Responsibilities

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree
  • 3+ years professional experience
  • Experience with book-keeping processes, including general ledger, accounts payable and accounts receivable
  • Experience with the travel industry (specifically travel back-office systems and processes)
  • Experience with business analysis, software solution design, software configuration and user acceptance testing
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Self-starter who can work independently, has exceptional problem solving and critical thinking skills, strong organizational skills and great attention to detail
  • Analytical mindset
  • Flexible and adaptable; comfortable working in an environment of frequent change

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience with Unit4 CentralCommand
  • Experience with Global Distribution Systems (especially the Sabre GDS)
  • Experience with SQL
  • Familiarity with Agile product development methodologies and tools (JIRA, Rally, Mural, etc.)
