About the position

The Auto Club Group is seeking a Travel Business and Data Analyst to join their team. This position serves as a business function expert on one or more teams, representing the operational interests of various business units. The analyst will identify aspects of projects that may require modifications during design and development phases, providing guidance and training to team members and business partners to enhance performance. The role involves developing and analyzing data models and reports, preparing recommendations for management review, and conducting application and technology demonstrations to various groups and management levels. In addition to these responsibilities, the analyst will lead activities related to complex analysis, evaluate alternatives, and make recommendations for innovative and effective business solutions. The position requires the development of project objectives, requirements, and cost-benefit analyses as projects are initiated. The analyst will also be responsible for updating project statuses to management, developing and revising documentation related to project activities, and coordinating testing strategies for departmental projects. The role may involve acting as a liaison between departments and internal or external contacts, ensuring effective communication and collaboration. This is a hybrid work arrangement, where employees will spend time both in the office and working remotely. The position requires attendance in the office for key meetings and collaborative activities, with specific reporting days communicated by management. The total compensation for this role ranges from $70,000 to $90,000 annually, with additional bonus potential based on performance. Responsibilities

  • Serve as a business function expert on one or more teams, representing operational interests of business units.
  • Identify business aspects of projects that may need modification during design and development.
  • Provide guidance and training to team members and business partners to improve performance.
  • Develop and analyze data models and reports, preparing recommendations for management review.
  • Conduct application and technology demonstrations to various groups and management levels.
  • Lead activities related to complex analysis, evaluating alternatives and making recommendations for business solutions.
  • Develop project objectives, requirements, and cost-benefit analyses as projects are initiated.
  • Update project statuses to management throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Develop, review, revise, and update documentation related to project activities.
  • Coordinate and define testing strategies for departmental projects.
  • Act as a liaison between assigned departments/projects and internal/external contacts.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Project coordination and/or leadership experience.
  • Experience in business planning and consulting.
  • Ability to research, analyze, identify, and resolve moderately complex to complex business problems.
  • Participation on project teams.
  • Experience in developing data models using spreadsheet applications.
  • Ability to analyze data models/reports and prepare recommendations for management review.
  • Experience in providing guidance to less experienced staff/team members.
  • Ability to prepare written proposals/reports.
  • Proficiency in PC software applications (e.g., Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access, Visio, MS Project).
  • Familiarity with project management tools (GANTT, Pert charts, Project Professional, MS Project, etc.).
  • Strong planning, organizing, and decision-making skills.
  • Ability to analyze, compile, and interpret data.
  • Experience in preparing and presenting materials.
  • Ability to achieve stated objectives within designated timeframes.
  • Ability to explore alternative approaches to existing processes and project objectives.
  • Ability to perform a variety of concurrent activities and work in a team environment.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills, including report generation and presentation of major reports.

Nice-to-haves

  • Bachelor's degree in business administration, Finance, Computer Science, Operations Research, Information Technology or related field.
  • Related professional or technology certification/designation.
  • Experience with Google Cloud Platform or SQL.
  • Experience working with data analytics tools such as Looker or Python.
