About the position
Travel Nurse Across America is seeking a travel CT Technologist for a 13-week assignment in Houston, Texas. The role involves using computed tomography equipment to capture diagnostic images and ensuring accurate patient care during the scanning process. The position requires a commitment to patient safety and quality imaging, along with the ability to work night shifts.
Responsibilities
- Confirm patient identification and review imaging requests.
- Explain imaging procedures to patients, providing reassurance and support.
- Correctly interpret doctors' written instructions.
- Appropriately position patients for scanning specific areas of their bodies.
- Use computerized tomography equipment to capture diagnostic images.
- Administer radiocontrast agents to enhance visibility of internal organs and tissues.
- Evaluate CT scans for technical quality.
- Follow safety procedures when working with radiation.
- Maintain accurate patient records.
- Understand and use the McKesson PACS system.
Requirements
- Must have 1 year of experience as a CT Technologist.
- Must have BLS certification.
- Must have ARRT (CT) National Certification with registration in computed tomography.
- State-specific licensing when required.
- Knowledge of anatomy, physiology, pathology, and medical terminology.
