About the position

The Direct Support Professional (DSP) role at Community People Inc. involves providing instruction and supervision to individuals participating in Community Services Programs. The primary focus is to assist participants in gaining independence in daily living activities, both in their homes and within the community. This part-time position requires flexibility in working hours, including days, evenings, and weekends, and involves travel to various locations to deliver services.

Responsibilities

• Provides instruction and supervision to individuals in Community Services Programs.
• Assists participants in skill-building activities as defined by the Staff Action Plan.
• Helps individuals gain and maintain independence in daily living skills.
• Offers respite to caregivers in In Home Respite services.
• Facilitates community involvement for participants.
• Teaches social skills in home and community settings.
• Participates in staff meetings and in-service training.
• Submits necessary billing and program documentation accurately.
• Complies with all applicable regulations and agency policies.

Requirements

• Must be at least 18 years of age.
• High School Diploma or GED is required.
• Valid Driver's License that meets agency policy is necessary.
• Ability to transport individuals in a personal vehicle that meets agency requirements.
• Ability to use a personal device (cell phone, tablet, etc.) for documentation.
• Must meet physical requirements including standing, walking, sitting, bending, squatting, kneeling, and climbing.
