The Travel DSP - Community position is a part-time role focused on providing instruction and supervision to individuals participating in Community Services Programs, specifically Community Habilitation and In Home Respite. The primary goal of this position is to assist individuals in gaining independence in their daily living activities, which may include skill-building activities as defined by the Staff Action Plan. This role involves working closely with individuals in their own homes and within the community, helping them to enhance their independence and social skills. In this position, the Direct Support Professional (DSP) will assist program participants in various skill-building activities, which may include gaining and maintaining independence in daily living skills, providing respite to caregivers, and facilitating community involvement. The DSP will also be responsible for safely transporting individuals to and from activities and appointments using their own vehicle. Additionally, the role requires compliance with all applicable regulations, policies, and procedures, as well as the submission of necessary billing and program documentation. The DSP will participate in general staff meetings, in-service training, and other relevant agency meetings to ensure they are up-to-date with agency policies and best practices. The position requires flexibility in scheduling, as services may be provided during days, evenings, and weekends.
