About the position

The Travel DSP - Community position at People Inc. involves providing instruction and supervision to individuals participating in Community Services Programs, including Community Habilitation and In Home Respite. The role focuses on enhancing the independence of participants in their daily living activities, both in their homes and within the community.

Responsibilities

• Assists individuals in skill-building activities as defined by the Staff Action Plan.
• Helps participants gain and maintain independence in daily living skills.
• Provides respite to caregivers in home settings.
• Facilitates access to community involvement for participants.
• Teaches social skills in home and community settings.
• Participates in general staff meetings and in-service training.
• Assists program participants during scheduled hours, including days, evenings, and weekends.
• Travels to multiple locations to provide services as required.
• Safely transports individuals to and from activities and appointments using a personal vehicle.
• Submits necessary billing and program documentation, ensuring compliance with EVV standards.
• Complies with all applicable regulations, policies, and agency training requirements.

Requirements

• Must be at least 18 years of age.
• High School Diploma or GED is required.
• Valid Driver's License that meets agency policy is necessary.
• Ability to transport individuals in a personal vehicle that meets agency requirements.
• Ability to use a personal device (cell phone, tablet, etc.) for documentation purposes.
• Ability to meet physical requirements of the position, including standing, walking, sitting, bending, squatting, kneeling, and climbing.
