Responsibilities

  • Provide first assist support during surgical procedures
  • Collaborate with surgeons and other medical staff to ensure patient safety
  • Prepare and maintain the sterile field during surgeries
  • Assist in the positioning of patients for surgical procedures
  • Monitor patients' vital signs and report any changes to the medical team
  • Ensure all surgical instruments and supplies are available and in working order
  • Document patient care and surgical procedures accurately
  • Adhere to all hospital policies and procedures regarding patient care and safety

Requirements

  • Must have a valid First Assist Technician certification
  • Previous experience in a surgical setting is preferred
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills
  • Knowledge of surgical instruments and procedures
  • Current BLS certification

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience with electronic medical records (EMR) systems
  • Additional certifications in surgical technology
  • Familiarity with various surgical specialties
