Aya Healthcare is seeking a GI/Endo Tech for a travel assignment in Long Beach, CA. This role involves performing various endoscopic procedures and ensuring the proper setup and sterilization of equipment. Responsibilities
- Perform endoscopic procedures including colonoscopy and esophagogastroduodenoscopy (EGD).
- Set up and maintain endoscopic equipment and instruments.
- Ensure high-level disinfection (HLD) of equipment and adherence to infection control protocols.
- Assist with biopsies and other procedures as needed.
- Restock room supplies and maintain inventory of medical equipment.
- Label and process microbiology and pathology specimens.
- Close the procedure room at the end of the day.
Requirements
- BLS Certification required.
- At least 1 year of experience in a similar role.
- Proficient in using dilators, electrosurgical units, endoscopes, and other related equipment.
Nice-to-haves
- Experience with ERBE (portable) electrical coagulation instrument.
- Familiarity with high-level disinfection procedures.
