About the position
Epic Travel Staffing Allied is seeking a travel Cath Lab Technologist for a position in Springfield, Illinois. This role involves working 12-hour shifts during the day, specifically from 6:30 AM to 7 PM, with a commitment of 36 hours per week. The position requires expertise in various cardiac procedures and the ability to adapt to the needs of the facility.
Responsibilities
- Perform cardiac catheterization procedures including left and right heart catheterizations.
- Assist with cardiac implant closure device placements and cardiac stent placements.
- Conduct diagnostic catheterizations for adult patients.
- Manage IABP placement and removal.
- Interpret dysrhythmias and recognize life-threatening arrhythmias.
- Set up equipment for procedures and scrub in as needed.
- Float within the scope of practice to meet facility needs.
Requirements
- Experience with cardiac catheterization procedures.
- Proficiency in using Cerner for charting and documentation.
- Ability to work 2-3 weekends per contract.
Nice-to-haves
- Experience with Rotablader athrectomy.
- Familiarity with percutaneous coronary interventions (PCI) and percutaneous transluminal coronary angioplasty (PTCA).
