About the position

The Travel Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) position at CareerStaff Unlimited involves providing essential nursing care in a skilled nursing facility in Derry, NH. The role focuses on assisting patients with complex medical needs to improve their quality of life through compassionate care and support. LPNs are integral members of the healthcare team, responsible for various nursing functions and ensuring patient comfort and safety.

Responsibilities

  • Assist residents with daily activities such as bathing, dressing, grooming, and dental care.
  • Provide nursing functions as directed by the supervisor, including perineal care, catheter care, and monitoring vital signs.
  • Prepare residents for meals and assist with feeding as needed, while recording food and fluid intake.
  • Maintain resident confidentiality and treat residents with dignity and respect, complying with Resident's Rights rules.
  • Utilize nursing knowledge to implement preventive and rehabilitative care for assigned patients.
  • Perform delegated independent nursing functions according to established procedures and guidelines.
  • Assist in data collection for patient records and contribute to care plan development.
  • Carry out physician orders accurately and assist in evaluating the effectiveness of nursing care.
  • Document observations and interventions in patient records accurately.
  • Administer medications and perform limited IV therapy procedures as delegated by the RN.
  • Maintain communication among patients, staff, and physicians regarding patient care.
  • Provide health teaching to patients and their families as delegated by the RN.
  • Participate in staff development programs and meetings as requested.

Requirements

  • Graduate of a nationally approved Nursing program is required.
  • Maintain current BLS/CPR certification from either the American Heart Association (AHA) or the American Red Cross (ARC).
  • Must be currently licensed by the State Board of Nursing.
