About the position

The Travel Medical Assistant IV position at Leidos QTC Health Services is a dynamic role that requires a passion for patient care and a willingness to travel extensively within the designated region, specifically Nevada. This position entails approximately 85% travel to support Mobile Clinical Operations (MCO) and to provide essential services to veterans. In this role, you will be responsible for performing routine medical procedures, obtaining medical histories, recording vital signs, and completing lab requisitions. You will also conduct standard diagnostic procedures such as 12-lead electrocardiograms, venipuncture, and preparation of lab specimens. Additionally, you will be tasked with identifying CDC travel recommendations and providing after-visit summaries for travel exams. The position requires a high level of detail and accuracy, as you will be reviewing and editing medical reports and ensuring that all clinical diagnostic tests are performed to the highest quality standards. The ideal candidate will possess strong communication skills, both verbal and written, and will be able to work effectively in a team environment while also being capable of independent work. The role demands exceptional customer service skills to enhance interactions with providers, operational teams, and clients. Responsibilities

  • Perform routine procedures to obtain claimant's medical history, record vital signs, and complete lab requisitions.
  • Conduct standard diagnostic procedures accurately, including 12-lead electrocardiograms, venipuncture, and preparation of lab specimens.
  • Identify CDC travel recommendations and provide after-visit summaries for travel exams.
  • Prepare and administer medications as ordered and verified by the provider.
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of the clinic, including changing exam room table paper and disinfecting surfaces.
  • Chaperone during examinations and assist with translation if fluent in other languages.
  • Perform front office duties such as answering phones, scheduling appointments, and data entry.
  • Review and edit reports in proprietary software for accuracy and consistency.
  • Assist in the retrieval of diagnostic tests for scanning into proprietary software.
  • Work with providers and operational teams to ensure timely and accurate report submissions.

Requirements

  • Must reside in a Non-Compact state: Nevada.
  • High School Diploma or equivalent GED; Bachelor's Degree preferred.
  • Graduation from an accredited vocational Medical Assistant program or military equivalent.
  • Medical Assistant Certification/Registration or meet state requirements.
  • 3 years of hands-on clinical experience in Primary Care, Family Care, Internal Medicine, Urgent Care, or ER as a Medical Assistant.
  • CPR certification.
  • Recent clinical competencies including accurate vital signs, venipuncture, blood draw, and administering EKG.
  • Valid U.S. Driver's License and willingness to drive between work locations.
  • Permanent residency within 50 miles of a major US airport.
  • Ability to pass National Agency Check with Inquiries (NACI) background investigation.

Nice-to-haves

  • Fluency in additional languages for assisting with translation during evaluations.
  • Experience with EMR and MS Office Suite software applications.
  • Knowledge of sterile techniques and respiratory fit testing.
