About the position

The Licensed MRI Technologist position involves operating magnetic resonance imaging equipment to produce diagnostic images of patients' bodies. This role requires a highly motivated and energetic individual who can maintain a friendly and professional environment while ensuring patient safety and comfort. The position is a temporary contract assignment for 13 weeks, primarily working night shifts.

Responsibilities

  • Operate magnetic resonance imaging equipment to produce cross-sectional images for diagnostic purposes.
  • Perform patient studies according to set protocols, including placing specified coils close to the area of interest.
  • Adjust transmitters and receivers, and key in data on the keyboard of the camera to photograph images.
  • Interview patients to explain MRI procedures and address their concerns with tact and courtesy.
  • Ensure patient and staff safety by explaining safety protocols and monitoring patients via closed circuit TV.
  • Orient and train new hires, MRI Technologists, students, and trainees.

Requirements

  • Two years of continuous recent experience as an MRI Technologist, working at least 20 hours per week.
  • License in the required state.
  • BLS certification.
  • Proficiency in MRI and knowledge of required protocols for performing complex MRI procedures.
  • Effective oral and written communication skills.
  • Ability to present information effectively in one-on-one and small group situations.
  • Ability to learn applications relevant to the position.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience in a clinical area, particularly in EP (Electrophysiology) is preferred.
