About the position

Focus Staff is seeking a highly motivated and energetic MRI Technologist for a travel assignment in Stockbridge, Georgia. This position is designed for professionals who are committed to providing exceptional patient care in a friendly, positive, and professional environment. The role involves operating magnetic resonance imaging equipment to produce cross-sectional images of patients' bodies for diagnostic purposes. The MRI Technologist will work under the direction of the Chief of Radiology and the Imaging Services Director, exercising independent judgment and initiative to ensure optimal diagnostic quality and patient safety. The contract assignment is for a duration of 13 weeks, with a schedule of 36 hours per week, specifically during the night shift (3x12). Candidates must possess a strong knowledge of MRI procedures and protocols, as well as a compassionate approach to patient care. The ideal candidate will be a critical thinker, able to act swiftly in emergencies, and will have excellent communication skills to effectively interact with patients and staff. In addition to technical skills, the MRI Technologist will be responsible for ensuring patient safety by explaining safety protocols, monitoring patients, and training new hires and students. Responsibilities

  • Operate magnetic resonance imaging equipment to produce cross-sectional images of patients' bodies for diagnostic purposes.
  • Perform patient studies according to set protocol, including placing specified coils close to the area of interest.
  • Operate imaging and other equipment devices to provide quality diagnostic services, including keying commands to specify scan sequences into the computer.
  • Interview patients to explain MRI procedures and address their concerns with tact and courtesy.
  • Ensure patient and staff safety by explaining safety protocols and monitoring patients via closed circuit TV.
  • Orient new hires and train MRI Technologists, students, and trainees.

Requirements

  • Two (2) years of continuous recent experience as an MRI Technologist, working twenty (20) hours or more per week.
  • License in the required state for MRI Technologists.
  • BLS certification.
  • Proficiency in MRI and knowledge of required protocols for performing complex MRI procedures.
  • Effective oral and written communication skills.
  • Ability to present information in one-on-one and small group situations.
  • Ability to learn applications relevant to the position.
  • At least 2 years of hospital experience in a clinical area, with EP preferred.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience in Interventional Radiology.
  • Additional certifications related to MRI technology.
