About the position

Focus Staff is seeking a highly motivated and energetic MRI Technologist for a travel assignment in Mayfield Heights, Ohio. This position is designed for professionals who are committed to providing exceptional patient care in a friendly, positive, and professional environment. The selected candidate will be responsible for operating magnetic resonance imaging equipment to produce cross-sectional images of patients' bodies for diagnostic purposes. This role requires a strong knowledge of MRI procedures and patient safety protocols, as well as the ability to think critically and respond quickly in emergency situations. The MRI Technologist will work under the direction of the Chief of Radiology and the Imaging Services Director, with the autonomy to exercise independent judgment and initiative. The position involves performing patient studies according to established protocols, ensuring optimal diagnostic quality, and maintaining a safe environment for both patients and staff. The ideal candidate will possess excellent communication skills, enabling them to effectively explain procedures to patients and address any concerns they may have. This is a contract assignment lasting 13 weeks, with a schedule of 36 hours per week, typically consisting of 12-hour day shifts. Responsibilities

  • Operate magnetic resonance imaging equipment to produce cross-sectional images of patients' bodies for diagnostic purposes.
  • Perform patient studies according to set protocols, including placing specified coils close to the area of interest.
  • Key commands to specify scan sequences into the computer and adjust transmitters and receivers for optimal imaging.
  • Interview patients to explain MRI procedures and address their concerns with tact and courtesy.
  • Ensure patient and staff safety by explaining safety protocols and monitoring patients during procedures.
  • Orient and train new hires, MRI Technologists, students, and trainees.

Requirements

  • Two years of continuous recent experience as an MRI Technologist, working at least twenty hours per week.
  • License in the required state for MRI Technologists.
  • BLS certification is required.
  • Proficiency in MRI procedures and knowledge of required protocols for complex MRI procedures.
  • Effective oral and written communication skills, with the ability to present information clearly to patients and staff.
  • Ability to learn applications relevant to the position and adapt to new technologies.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience in a clinical area, particularly in interventional radiology (EP preferred).
