About the position

Focus Staff is seeking a travel MRI Technologist for a travel job in Albany, Georgia. The role is a contract assignment lasting 13 weeks, with a shift schedule of 3x12 days, totaling 36 hours per week. The MRI Technologist will operate magnetic resonance imaging equipment to produce cross-sectional images of patients' bodies for diagnostic purposes. Under the direction of the Chief of Radiology and the Imaging Services Director, the technologist will perform related technological functions to ensure optimal diagnostic quality of patient care while utilizing efficient and safe processes. The ideal candidate will possess phenomenal efficiency and attention to detail, along with a strong knowledge of procedures and patient safety. Compassion and sensitivity are prerequisites for this profession, and the candidate should be a critical thinker who can act quickly in emergencies. The position requires effective oral and written communication skills, as well as the ability to present information clearly in one-on-one and small group situations. Candidates must have at least two years of continuous recent experience as an MRI Technologist and be fully proficient in all duties required of an MRI Technologist II. Responsibilities

  • Operate magnetic resonance imaging equipment to produce cross-sectional images of patients' bodies for diagnostic purposes.
  • Perform patient studies according to set protocol, including placing specified coil close to the area of interest.
  • Operate imaging and other equipment devices to provide quality diagnostic services, including keying commands to specify scan sequences into the computer.
  • Interview patients to explain magnetic resonance imaging procedures and address their concerns with tact and courtesy.
  • Ensure patient and staff safety by explaining safety protocols and monitoring patients via closed circuit TV.
  • Orient new hires and train MRI Technologists, students, and trainees.

Requirements

  • Have two (2) years of regular (twenty (20) hours or more per week) continuous recent experience as a MRI Technologist.
  • Be fully proficient in all duties required of a MRI Technologist II.
  • Hold a license in the required state.
  • Possess BLS certification.
  • Be fully proficient in MRI and have knowledge of the required protocols in performing complex MRI procedures.
  • Demonstrate effective oral and written communication skills.
  • Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience in a clinical area; EP preferred.
