Responsibilities

• Utilize knowledge of anatomy, physiology, and MRI principles to operate MRI scanners safely and efficiently.
• Ensure the safety of patients, staff, and visitors in the MRI environment.
• Position patients and coils on the MRI table appropriately.
• Inject contrast media as required during procedures.
• Set technical parameters and operate MRI scanners, observing image data during scans.
• Recognize differences between normal and abnormal images.
• Respond to life-threatening situations as necessary.
• Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local regulations and guidelines.
• Deliver quality, cost-effective patient care in a professional manner.
• Maintain a patient-focused environment, providing timely and compassionate care.
• Promote and maintain a safe work environment, incorporating national patient safety initiatives.

Requirements

• Completion of a two-year approved School of Radiologic Technology.
• Valid state radiology registration as required by state law.
• Eighteen months of MRI Tech experience preferred, ideally in a critical care setting.
• Registry by the American Registry of Radiologic Technology.
