About the position

Focus Staff is seeking a travel MRI Technologist for a travel job in Boise, Idaho. This position is designed for a highly motivated and energetic individual who is willing to support a friendly, positive, and professional environment. The role is a contract assignment lasting 13 weeks, with a standard work schedule of 40 hours per week, specifically 8-hour shifts during the day. The ideal candidate will possess a strong knowledge of MRI procedures and patient safety, demonstrating compassion and sensitivity in their interactions with patients. Critical thinking and the ability to act quickly in emergencies are essential traits for success in this role. As a travel MRI Technologist, you will operate magnetic resonance imaging equipment to produce cross-sectional images of patients' bodies for diagnostic purposes. Under the direction of the Chief of Radiology and the Imaging Services Director, you will perform related technological functions to ensure optimal diagnostic quality of patient care while utilizing efficient and safe processes. You will be responsible for performing patient studies according to set protocols, operating imaging devices, and ensuring patient and staff safety by explaining safety protocols and monitoring patients during procedures. Additionally, you will be expected to interview patients to explain MRI procedures, address their concerns, and exhibit a high degree of tact and courtesy when interacting with patients, staff, and visitors. Training and orienting new hires, students, and trainees will also be part of your responsibilities. Responsibilities

  • Operate magnetic resonance imaging equipment to produce cross-sectional images of patients' bodies for diagnostic purposes.
  • Perform patient studies according to set protocols, including placing specified coils close to the area of interest.
  • Operate imaging and other equipment devices to provide quality diagnostic services, including keying commands to specify scan sequences into the computer.
  • Interview patients to explain MRI procedures and address their concerns with tact and courtesy.
  • Ensure patient and staff safety by explaining safety protocols and monitoring patients via closed circuit TV.
  • Orient and train new hires, MRI Technologists, students, and trainees.

Requirements

  • Have two (2) years of regular (twenty (20) hours or more per week) continuous recent experience as a MRI Technologist.
  • License in the required state.
  • BLS certification is required.
  • Must be fully proficient in MRI and have knowledge of the required protocols in performing complex MRI procedures.
  • Effective oral and written communication skills are necessary.
  • Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other incumbents of the organization.
  • Ability to learn applications relevant to the position.
  • 2 years of hospital experience in a clinical area; EP preferred.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience in Interventional Radiology is a plus.
