About the position

Focus Staff is currently seeking a highly motivated and energetic Licensed MRI Technologist for a contract assignment in Lebanon, NH. This position is temporary, lasting for 13 weeks, and involves working 5x8 night shifts. As an MRI Technologist, you will be responsible for operating magnetic resonance imaging equipment to produce cross-sectional images of patients' bodies for diagnostic purposes. You will work under the direction of the Chief of Radiology and the Imaging Services Director, utilizing your judgment, ingenuity, and initiative to ensure optimal diagnostic quality of patient care while adhering to efficient and safe processes. In this role, you will perform patient studies according to established protocols, which includes placing specified coils close to the area of interest. You will operate imaging and other equipment devices to provide quality diagnostic services, keying commands to specify scan sequences into the computer, adjusting transmitters and receivers, and entering data on the camera's keyboard to photograph images. Additionally, you will interview patients to explain MRI procedures, addressing their concerns with tact, courtesy, and poise. Ensuring patient and staff safety is paramount, which includes explaining safety protocols, requesting the removal of hazardous metal objects, and monitoring patients via closed circuit TV. You will also have the opportunity to orient new hires and train MRI Technologists, students, and trainees, contributing to the development of future professionals in the field.

Responsibilities

  • Operate magnetic resonance imaging equipment to produce cross-sectional images of patients' bodies for diagnostic purposes.
  • Perform patient studies according to set protocol, including placing specified coil close to the area of interest.
  • Operate imaging and other equipment devices to provide quality diagnostic services, including keying commands to specify scan sequences into the computer.
  • Interview patients to explain magnetic resonance imaging procedures and address their concerns with tact and courtesy.
  • Ensure patient and staff safety by explaining safety protocols and monitoring patients via closed circuit TV.
  • Orient new hires and train MRI Technologists, students, and trainees.

Requirements

  • Two (2) years of continuous recent experience as a MRI Technologist, working twenty (20) hours or more per week.
  • License in the required state.
  • BLS certification.
  • Fully proficient in MRI and knowledgeable of required protocols for performing complex MRI procedures.
  • Effective oral and written communication skills.
  • Ability to present information effectively in one-on-one and small group situations.
  • Ability to learn applications relevant to the position.
  • At least 2 years of hospital experience in a clinical area; EP preferred.
