About the position
The cardiac catheterization lab nurse plays a crucial role in the cardiac care team, primarily responsible for performing procedures using heart catheterization tools. This position involves assisting physicians in diagnosing and treating various heart conditions, including the implantation of devices such as pacemakers and defibrillators.
Responsibilities
- Perform cardiac catheterization procedures using specialized tools.
- Assist physicians during angioplasties, valvuloplasties, and stent placements.
- Monitor patients' vital signs and overall condition during procedures.
- Provide pre- and post-procedure care to patients.
- Educate patients and their families about procedures and recovery.
Requirements
- Registered Nurse (RN) license required.
- Experience in cardiac care or catheterization lab preferred.
- Knowledge of heart anatomy and cardiovascular procedures essential.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle emergencies.
Nice-to-haves
- Certification in cardiac catheterization or related field.
