About the position

TalentBurst, Inc is seeking a travel nurse RN Dialysis for a 12-week assignment in Winchester, Virginia. The role involves providing and coordinating clinically competent care for patients undergoing hemodialysis, including assessment, planning, intervention, and evaluation. The nurse will work as part of the End Stage Kidney Disease (ESKD) healthcare team, participating in decision-making, teaching, and quality improvement activities to enhance patient care outcomes.

Responsibilities

  • Perform ongoing, systematic collection and analysis of patient data pre, during, and post hemodialysis treatment.
  • Assess, collaborate, and document patient/family's basic learning needs to provide education.
  • Direct and provide all aspects of the daily provision of safe and effective delivery of hemodialysis therapy.
  • Administer medications as prescribed and document medical justification and effectiveness.
  • Initiate or assist with emergency response measures.
  • Serve as a resource for the healthcare team and participate in staff training and orientation.
  • Ensure correct laboratory collection, processing, and shipping procedures are performed.
  • Identify expected outcomes and update the nursing assessment and plan of care for assigned patients.
  • Ensure patient awareness related to transplant and treatment modality options.

Requirements

  • 12 months or more of recent dialysis experience required.
  • Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing.
  • Current appropriate state licensure.
  • Current or successful completion of CPR BLS Certification.
  • 1 year of Nephrology Nursing experience in the last two years as a RN.
  • Chronic hemodialysis experience required.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience in a healthcare facility with air temperature control and moderate noise levels.
  • Ability to work in a team environment and collaborate with other healthcare professionals.
