Quik Travel Staffing is seeking a travel nurse RN specializing in Dialysis for a travel nursing job in West Islip, New York. This position is designed for a dedicated and skilled nurse who is ready to provide high-quality care to patients undergoing dialysis treatment. The role requires a commitment to patient assessment, treatment plan adjustments, and education regarding end-stage renal disease and dialysis therapy. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in nursing, particularly in dialysis, and will be able to adapt quickly to new environments while maintaining the highest standards of patient care. As a Dialysis Travel RN, you will be responsible for assessing patient responses to dialysis therapy and making necessary adjustments to treatment plans as directed by supervisors or prescribed by physicians. You will conduct thorough assessments of patients before, during, and after dialysis sessions, documenting all findings accurately. Administering medications as ordered and educating patients and their families about dialysis, diet, and medications are also key components of this role. Flexibility to travel to the assignment location and availability to work the facility's required schedule are essential. You will also need to complete onboarding items in a timely manner to ensure a smooth transition into the role. Responsibilities

  • Assesses patient response to dialysis therapy.
  • Makes appropriate adjustments and modifications to treatment plans as indicated/directed by supervisors or prescribed by the physician.
  • Conducts assessment of patient pre, interim, and post dialysis and documents findings.
  • Administers medications as ordered to assigned patients.
  • Assesses educational needs of patient and educates the patient and family regarding end-stage renal disease, dialysis therapy, diet, and medications.
  • Demonstrates flexibility to travel to the assignment location.
  • Maintains availability to work the facility's required schedule.
  • Completes onboarding items in a timely manner.
  • Adapts quickly to new environments and strives for the highest quality of patient care.

Requirements

  • 1+ year of recent experience as a dialysis nurse
  • Graduate from an accredited nursing school
  • Current state specific RN license in good standing, or if applicable, a compact state RN license in good standing
  • BLS certification required (Chronic and Acute settings)
  • ACLS certification required (Acute setting only)
