About the position
OneStaff Medical is seeking a travel nurse RN specializing in Emergency Department (ED) for a 13-week assignment in Big Stone Gap, Virginia. The role involves providing critical care to patients experiencing trauma or injury, recognizing life-threatening conditions, and delivering immediate medical assistance in various settings, including hospital emergency rooms and urgent care centers.
Responsibilities
- Treat patients in emergency situations where they are experiencing trauma or injury.
- Quickly recognize life-threatening problems and provide immediate care.
- Work in various environments such as hospital emergency rooms, ambulances, and urgent care centers.
- Handle a variety of medical conditions from minor ailments to critical emergencies.
- Provide care for patients of all ages and backgrounds.
Requirements
- Current RN license in the state of Virginia or compact state.
- Experience in emergency nursing or related field.
- Ability to work 12-hour night shifts.
- Strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Nice-to-haves
- Certification in Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS).
- Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certification.
- Trauma Nursing Core Course (TNCC) certification.
