About the position

NuWest Travel Nursing is seeking a travel nurse RN for the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) in Springfield, Ohio. This position is for a travel nursing role that requires a minimum of 2 years of RN experience with a focus on ICU care. The role involves working primarily with MICU and SICU patients, including some neuro patients, in a non-trauma ICU setting. The nurse will be expected to work 12-hour night shifts for a duration of 13 weeks, starting as soon as possible.

Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality nursing care to ICU patients.
• Monitor and assess patient conditions and vital signs.
• Administer medications and treatments as prescribed.
• Collaborate with healthcare team members to develop and implement patient care plans.
• Document patient care and progress in the electronic health record (EPIC).
• Educate patients and families about health conditions and care plans.

Requirements

• Minimum 2 years of RN experience with ICU experience.
• Current RN license in the state of practice or covered by compact.
• Current EPIC experience.
• BLS Basic Life Support certification (preferred upon hire).
• ACLS Advanced Cardiac Life Support certification (required within 6 months of hire).
• 1 year of RN experience (required).
• 6 months RN experience in a Med/Surg, Critical Care, Stepdown, or Emergency Department Unit (preferred).

Nice-to-haves

• Experience with LVO's, EVD's, lumbar drains, Swans, IABP, Impella, CRRT.
• TNCC Trauma Nursing Core Course certification (preferred).
• CCRN Critical Care Registered Nurse certification (preferred).
• PCCN Progressive Care Certified Nurse certification (preferred).
• RN-BC Registered Nurse- Board Certified certification (preferred).
• TCRN Trauma Certified Registered Nurse certification (preferred).
• National Institute of Health (NIH) Stroke Certification (preferred).
• Bachelor of Science in Nursing (preferred).
• EPIC Electronic Health Record (EHR) training (preferred).
• Critical Care Course (preferred).
