About the position

MedPro Healthcare Staffing is seeking a travel nurse RN specializing in Long Term Acute Care for a 13-week assignment in Aurora, Colorado. The role involves providing care for patients requiring extended medical attention, with responsibilities including monitoring vital signs, administering medications, and educating patients and families about their care. This position is ideal for registered nurses with experience in a fast-paced environment and a focus on patient-centered care.

Responsibilities

• Provide care for 5-6 patients in the LTAC unit.
• Monitor and administer medications (orally, subcutaneously, and through an IV).
• Educate patients and families on surgical processes and illness management.
• Monitor and adjust specialized equipment used on patients.
• Record and interpret electronic displays and telemetry readings.
• Notify appropriate medical team members of any irregularities in patient conditions.
• Perform the duties required of a registered nurse at all times.
• Care for patients with pulmonary HTN, respiratory failure, COPD, CHF, and A-Fib.
• Start IVs, draw blood, and manage patient care from start to finish.

Requirements

• Active RN License
• Degree from an accredited nursing program
• BLS & ACLS Certifications
• Eighteen months of recent experience in a Long Term Acute Care setting
• Experience with Vents, Trachs, Drips, EG Tubes, and able to read Tele-strips
