About the position

MedPro Healthcare Staffing is seeking a Long Term Acute Care Registered Nurse (RN) for a travel nursing position in Beaver Dam, Wisconsin. This role involves providing care for patients requiring extended medical attention in a fast-paced environment. The nurse will be responsible for monitoring and administering medications, educating patients and families, and interpreting telemetry readings, among other duties. This position is a travel assignment lasting 13 weeks with a focus on delivering high-quality patient care.

Responsibilities

• Provide care for 5-6 patients in the Long Term Acute Care unit.
• Monitor and administer medications orally, subcutaneously, and through IV.
• Educate patients and families on surgical processes and illness management.
• Monitor and adjust specialized equipment used on patients.
• Record and interpret electronic displays and telemetry readings.
• Notify appropriate medical team members of any irregularities in patient conditions.
• Perform duties required of a registered nurse at all times.
• Care for patients with pulmonary HTN, respiratory failure, COPD, CHF, and A-Fib.
• Start IVs, draw blood, and manage patient care from start to finish.

Requirements

• Active RN License
• Degree from an accredited nursing program
• BLS & ACLS Certifications
• Eighteen months of recent experience in a Long Term Acute Care setting
• Experience with Vents, Trachs, Drips, EG Tubes, and ability to read Tele-strips
