About the position
The Registered Nurse (Med/Surg) position at Cynet Health involves providing nursing care primarily for non-surgical patients in a medical/surgical unit. The role requires managing patients with various medical conditions, including acute and chronic illnesses, and performing complex nursing duties with a focus on telemetry and wound care.
Responsibilities
- Provide nursing care for patients with a variety of medical conditions, primarily non-surgical.
- Manage patients with acute or chronic illnesses such as sepsis, infectious processes, acute kidney injury, and chronic kidney disease.
- Work with patients dealing with diabetes, gastrointestinal issues, fluid/electrolyte imbalances, and alcohol withdrawal.
- Care for patients with liver disease, substance misuse, endocarditis, heart disease, and skin/wound issues.
- Provide care for respiratory illnesses, including COPD, flu, pneumonia, and Cystic Fibrosis.
- Perform nursing duties with attention to complex cases involving chest tubes, drips, and complex wound care.
Requirements
- Registered Nurse License
- Experience with chest tubes
- Proficient in managing various tubes and drips such as Diltiazem, heparin, Lasix, insulin, or amiodarone
- Knowledge of lines, tubes, and drains for post-surgical patients
- Experience with tracheostomies/laryngectomies
- Proficiency in telemetry
- Complex wound care
- Central lines care and maintenance, including blood draws
