About the position

Stability Healthcare is seeking a dedicated and skilled travel nurse RN specializing in Neonatal Intensive Care (NICU) for a travel nursing position in Winchester, Virginia. This role is designed for a registered nurse with expertise in caring for critically ill newborns and infants requiring intensive medical attention. The position is for a duration of 13 weeks, with a commitment of 36 hours per week, primarily during night shifts of 12 hours each. As a travel nurse, you will have the opportunity to work in various healthcare settings, gaining valuable experience while providing essential care to vulnerable patients in the NICU. In this role, you will be responsible for monitoring the health status of newborns, administering medications, and collaborating with a multidisciplinary team to ensure the best outcomes for patients. You will also be expected to maintain accurate patient records, communicate effectively with families, and adhere to all safety and health regulations. Responsibilities

  • Monitor the health status of critically ill newborns in the NICU.
  • Administer medications and treatments as prescribed by physicians.
  • Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to develop and implement patient care plans.
  • Maintain accurate and detailed patient records and documentation.
  • Communicate effectively with families regarding patient care and progress.
  • Adhere to safety and health regulations in the NICU environment.

Requirements

  • Current RN license in the state of Virginia or compact state.
  • Minimum of 1 year of experience in a NICU setting.
  • BLS and NRP certifications required.
  • Ability to work 12-hour night shifts.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience with travel nursing assignments.
  • Additional certifications in neonatal care.
