About the position

Tact Staff is seeking a travel nurse RN specializing in Neonatal Intensive Care (NICU) for a 13-week assignment in San Diego, California. The role requires a registered nurse with cardiac experience and a California license, focusing on providing high-quality care to newborns in critical condition. The position involves working 36 hours per week on 12-hour shifts, with a requirement to float between various units and campuses as needed.

Responsibilities

  • Provide nursing care to neonates in the NICU.
  • Float between units including PICU and CVICU as well as NICU satellite campuses.
  • Perform pre and post-operative care for newborns.
  • Manage and change lines with multiple drips, including PICC lines and Broviacs.
  • Administer specialty gases and manage ventilators, including oscillators and CPAP.
  • Ensure compliance with health protocols, including flu shots.

Requirements

  • Current California RN License.
  • Minimum of 2 years of recent Level 4 NICU experience or strong Level 3 experience from a surgical NICU.
  • Cardiac experience is required.
  • BLS certification.
  • Advanced NRP certification.
  • PALS certification.

Nice-to-haves

  • Willingness to float between units and campuses.
  • Experience with various medical equipment such as oscillators, conventional ventilators, and G-Tubes.
  • Must have own transportation.
