About the position

Nationwide Therapy Group is seeking a dedicated and skilled travel nurse RN specializing in the Progressive Care Unit (PCU) for a travel nursing position in Winchester, Massachusetts. This role is designed for a registered nurse who is ready to take on the challenges of providing high-quality care to patients in a progressive care setting. The position is set to start on September 9, 2024, and will last for a duration of 12 weeks, with a commitment of 36 hours per week. The shifts will be 12 hours long, primarily during the day, from 7:00 AM to 7:00 PM. Responsibilities

  • Provide high-quality nursing care to patients in the Progressive Care Unit (PCU).
  • Monitor and assess patient conditions, including vital signs and symptoms.
  • Administer medications and treatments as prescribed by physicians.
  • Collaborate with healthcare team members to develop and implement patient care plans.
  • Educate patients and their families about health conditions and post-discharge care.
  • Document patient care activities and maintain accurate medical records.

Requirements

  • Current RN license in the state of Massachusetts or compact state.
  • Minimum of 1 year of experience in a Progressive Care Unit (PCU).
  • BLS and ACLS certifications required.
  • Strong assessment and critical thinking skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience with electronic health records (EHR) systems.
  • Previous travel nursing experience is a plus.
  • Certification in Progressive Care Nursing (PCCN) preferred.
