About the position

Supplemental Health Care is seeking a travel nurse RN for the Progressive Care Unit (PCU) in Abingdon, Virginia. This role involves providing care to patients in a Med Surg setting, with a focus on delivering high-quality nursing services. The position is a 13-week travel contract with the possibility of extension, offering both day and night shifts.

Responsibilities

• Provide nursing care to patients in the Progressive Care Unit (PCU)
• Monitor patient conditions and administer medications as prescribed
• Collaborate with healthcare team members to develop and implement patient care plans
• Educate patients and their families on health management and care procedures
• Document patient care and progress accurately in medical records

Requirements

• Current Virginia Registered Nurse License / Certification
• American Heart Association BLS certification
• 1 to 2 years of recent relevant experience in a Med Surg or PCU setting

Nice-to-haves

• Experience with electronic health records (EHR) systems
• Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification
