About the position

The Registered Nurse (RN) - Pediatric ICU position at Cynet Health involves providing specialized nursing care to pediatric patients in a hospital setting. The role requires a minimum of one year of experience and includes responsibilities such as patient assessment, medication administration, and collaboration with healthcare teams to ensure optimal patient outcomes. This is a travel nursing position based in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, with a duration of 13 weeks and a guaranteed 36 hours of work per week.

Responsibilities

  • Assume responsibility for an assigned group of patients in a hospital setting.
  • Document patient responses to nursing interventions and prescribed medical treatments; note all changes in physician orders for assigned patients.
  • Assist physicians in the examination of patients and in performing minor diagnostic procedures and treatments.
  • Obtain and monitor physiological data from patients, observe physiological manifestations, and intervene when necessary.
  • Administer medication as prescribed; initiate, regulate, and monitor intravenous infusions and blood products.
  • Deliver competent patient care.
  • Interact with family and patients to share care plans during hospital stays and at discharge.
  • Inform patients and families about hospital procedures.
  • Make referrals regarding patient care needs to appropriate personnel.
  • Delegate tasks to support staff.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 1 year of experience as a Registered Nurse (RN).
  • Current RN License issued by the State Board of Nursing or a current multistate compact RN License (eNLC).
  • Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification issued by the American Heart Association.
  • Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certification by the American Heart Association.
  • Knowledge of professional nursing theory, practices, techniques, and procedures.
  • Ability to organize, plan, coordinate, and evaluate nursing services and apply nursing techniques.
  • Good verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to respond effectively to cultural and language needs of patients and visitors.
  • Some computer skills.
