About the position
The position is for a Registered Nurse (RN) specializing in pediatric care, requiring a valid Nebraska RN license or RN Compact license. The role involves working in a Level II trauma center, providing care to pediatric patients in a medical/surgical ICU setting. The nurse will be expected to float to different units as needed, particularly to NICU or CCU, and will work every other weekend and during Christmas.
Responsibilities
- Provide nursing care to pediatric patients in a medical/surgical ICU setting.
- Float to NICU or CCU as required, especially during staffing shortages.
- Work every other weekend and during Christmas as part of the schedule.
- Administer treatments and medications as prescribed.
- Monitor and assess patient conditions, including respiratory and trauma cases.
Requirements
- Current valid Nebraska RN license or RN Compact license.
- Current and valid Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through the American Heart Association.
- Current and valid Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certification.
- Minimum of 2 years of RN experience required.
- Experience with pediatric patients is required.
- Diploma, Associates, or Bachelor's degree from an accredited school of nursing.
Nice-to-haves
- Certified Pediatric Nurse or Certified Critical Care Nurse certification preferred.
- Previous experience with EPIC electronic health record system preferred.
