About the position

Sharp Nursing Medical Staffing is seeking a dedicated and compassionate travel nurse specializing in hospice care for a travel nursing position in Bellingham, Washington. This role is designed for registered nurses (RNs) who are passionate about providing end-of-life care to patients in their homes. The position is a travel assignment that will last for 12 weeks, with a guaranteed work week of 40 hours. The nurse will be working primarily during the day shift, with each shift lasting 8 hours. The ideal candidate will have experience in hospice care and be comfortable driving throughout the county to visit patients in their home settings. This hybrid position requires the nurse to be adaptable and self-sufficient, as they will be working out of their car for a significant portion of their duties. Orientation and training will take place at the administration building before the nurse begins home visits. The start date for this position is targeted for September 23, 2024, and the agency is looking to fill two openings for this role. The estimated weekly pay for this position ranges from $2,147 to $2,385, which includes hourly wages and reimbursements for meal and incidental expenses, as well as housing expenses incurred on behalf of the company. Responsibilities

  • Provide compassionate hospice care to patients in their home settings.
  • Drive throughout the county to visit patients and provide necessary medical care.
  • Conduct assessments and develop care plans tailored to individual patient needs.
  • Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to ensure comprehensive patient care.
  • Document patient interactions and care provided in compliance with agency policies.
  • Participate in orientation and training sessions at the administration building.

Requirements

  • Current RN license in the state of Washington.
  • Minimum of 1 year of experience in hospice care or a related field.
  • Preferred experience with Epic electronic health records system.
  • Ability to drive and work independently in a hybrid role.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience with home health care settings.
  • Certification in hospice and palliative care nursing.
