About the position

The Cath Lab Radiologic Technologist II is a skilled and experienced professional responsible for assisting physicians in complex interventional and therapeutic radiologic procedures within the Cardiac Catheterization Laboratory. This role involves direct patient care, mentoring junior staff, and ensuring adherence to safety standards while delivering exceptional patient care. The technologist must be available for on-call duties and actively participate in a collaborative team environment to achieve optimal patient outcomes.

Responsibilities

  • Assist physicians with interventional and therapeutic radiologic procedures including peripheral and coronary angioplasty, stents, rotablators, and electrophysiology procedures.
  • Scrub into Cath Lab cases to assist with equipment movement and radiation control during procedures.
  • Provide care for patients by executing various radiologic concepts, including positioning and technical factors.
  • Follow radiation safety standards and conduct imaging procedures accordingly.
  • Maintain proper sterile techniques and ensure compliance with infection control procedures.
  • Document patient procedures accurately and enter charges at the time of service.
  • Participate in departmental projects and shared governance activities.

Requirements

  • Graduate of an education program approved by the credentialing body for required credentials.
  • At least 3 years of experience as a Cath Lab Radiologic Technologist, or 2 years with at least 1 year at HM.
  • ARRT-R - Radiologic Technologist - Radiographer certification.
  • CMRT - Certified Medical Radiologic Technologist - State Licensure.
  • BLS - Basic Life Support certification.
  • ACLS - Advanced Cardiac Life Support certification.
  • Demonstrated skills and competencies necessary to perform the assigned job.
