The Travel Plaza Cashier position at Onvo Travel Plaza is a frontline role essential to the company's success. The primary responsibility is to interact directly with customers, providing fast and friendly service while ensuring a clean and safe environment.
Responsibilities
- Greet every customer in a quick and courteous manner.
- Provide a pleasant shopping experience and respond to customer inquiries in a timely fashion.
- Handle customer complaints according to company policies and procedures.
- Develop and maintain product knowledge to provide customers with recommendations.
- Process customer sales accurately and efficiently using point of sale equipment.
- Perform till balancing at the start and end of each shift.
- Maintain cash drawer levels in compliance with company policies.
- Receive and stock merchandise according to company policy.
- Lift up to 50 pounds following proper lifting procedures.
- Ensure stock is clean, presentable, and follows FIFO system.
- Remove and accurately record damaged or out-of-date stock.
- Maintain full control of the store and its contents to minimize loss.
- Follow company policies for securing the premises at end of day closure.
- Maintain a high standard of cleanliness in the store and customer service area.
- Work effectively with others in a positive and supportive manner.
- Assist new associates in learning their job skills.
- Communicate issues and concerns to management in a timely manner.
- Perform all duties in a safe and responsible manner.
Requirements
- Must be at least 16 years of age.
- Ability to read, write, and speak English.
- Physically capable of standing for long hours.
- Pass background check.
- Must be able to pass a Class C operator certification.
