About the position

QS Nurses is currently seeking a skilled Registered Nurse specializing in Labor and Delivery for a travel nursing opportunity. This position is designed for experienced RNs who are looking to take on a rewarding role in a dynamic environment. As a Labor and Delivery nurse, you will be responsible for providing care to expectant mothers during labor and delivery, ensuring both the mother and baby are safe and healthy throughout the process. You will work closely with obstetricians, midwives, and other healthcare professionals to deliver high-quality care and support to families during one of the most critical times in their lives. The travel nursing opportunity is for a duration of 12 weeks, with a commitment of 36 hours per week. Nurses will be expected to work 12-hour shifts during the day, providing ample time for rest and recovery between shifts. This role not only offers the chance to work in various healthcare settings but also allows for personal and professional growth through exposure to different practices and patient populations. The pay package is structured around the 12-hour shifts and includes a tax-free stipend, which will be confirmed upon hiring. Responsibilities

  • Provide care to expectant mothers during labor and delivery.
  • Monitor the health and progress of both mother and baby during labor.
  • Administer medications and interventions as prescribed by the healthcare team.
  • Collaborate with obstetricians, midwives, and other healthcare professionals to ensure safe delivery.
  • Educate and support families throughout the labor and delivery process.
  • Document patient care and progress accurately in medical records.

Requirements

  • Current Registered Nurse (RN) license in good standing.
  • Experience in Labor and Delivery nursing is required.
  • Ability to work 12-hour shifts and commit to a 12-week travel assignment.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

Nice-to-haves

  • Certification in Inpatient Obstetric Nursing (RNC-OB) is preferred.
  • BLS and ACLS certifications are a plus.
