About the position
Aya Healthcare is seeking a Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) for a NICU position in Newnan, GA. This role involves providing specialized respiratory care to neonatal patients, ensuring their respiratory needs are met effectively. The position offers a competitive weekly pay and requires a commitment to a 12-week assignment with 12-hour shifts.
Responsibilities
- Provide respiratory care to neonatal patients in the NICU.
- Perform endotracheal tube suctioning and extubation procedures.
- Assist with intubation and nasal airway placements.
- Collect sputum specimens and perform tracheostomy suctioning.
- Administer medications such as Albuterol, Atrovent, and Nitric Oxide as needed.
- Interpret arterial blood gases and manage high flow nasal cannula therapy.
Requirements
- Valid RRT certification required.
- NRP certification required.
- At least one year of experience in a NICU setting.
- Proficient in various respiratory therapies and equipment.
Nice-to-haves
- Experience with high frequency oscillators.
- Familiarity with aerosol therapy setups.
