About the position
As a Travel Sales Counselor at AAA, you will be responsible for providing exceptional travel sales and support experiences to our Members. This role involves selling various travel products, including vacation packages, cruises, and transportation services, while ensuring that members receive the best possible service and support. You will work in a collaborative environment, contributing to the mission of creating lifelong members by delivering outstanding service and innovative solutions.
Responsibilities
- Sell international and domestic vacation packages, cruises, tours, hotel, car rental, rail, and air travel.
- Research, evaluate, and compare appropriate AAA Travel Partner packages to match member needs.
- Stay current with world events and travel industry developments to provide relevant information to members.
- Process and interpret travel documents for members purchasing travel products with AAA.
- Initiate contact with members and past customers to prospect for new business and encourage repeat business.
- Cross-sell products and services such as insurance and new membership accounts.
Requirements
- High school diploma or GED equivalent required.
- 2 years of recent experience selling international and domestic travel services.
- Basic computer skills including Microsoft Word and Outlook.
- GDS experience required (Apollo/Galileo/Travelport).
- Strong consultative selling skills with the ability to listen to members' needs.
Nice-to-haves
- Bilingual communication skills are a plus.
- Travel Institute certification as 'CTA, CTC, or CTIE' (preferred).
