About the position

The Travel Sales Manager is responsible for managing the travel function across various lines of business to increase travel sales revenue. This role involves overseeing the performance of Travel Counselors, resolving member issues, and driving sales through effective coaching and management. The position requires substantial fieldwork and business development within the greater Sacramento Area and North, focusing on achieving sales goals and enhancing customer satisfaction.

Responsibilities

  • Manage the travel function to increase travel sales revenue.
  • Oversee the selling performance of Travel Counselors and establish appropriate staffing levels.
  • Resolve member issues and ensure customer satisfaction.
  • Analyze sales and industry trends to capitalize on opportunities.
  • Set sales goals in conjunction with business line and hold the team accountable for reaching those goals.
  • Strengthen employee and member relationships by resolving issues fairly.
  • Identify process efficiencies in automation, reporting, and workflow management.
  • Build relationships with industry representatives and local community leaders to facilitate sales growth.
  • Keep staff informed of industry changes and agency updates.
  • Assist in the development and execution of training for staff.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree plus 5 years related travel experience or High School diploma plus 9 years of travel sales & service experience.
  • 3+ years of supervisory/management experience.
  • Valid Driver's License.
  • Strong sales coaching skills.
  • Effective communication skills, both oral and written.
  • Strong negotiation and analytical skills.
  • Proficient in customer issue resolution.
  • Ability to work extended hours as needed.
  • Strong computer skills, including proficiency with MS Office or Google Suite.
