About the position

The Travel Specialist at S&K Federal Services is responsible for managing all data entry and office automation functions related to the Department of Energy (DOE) Office of Science's Travel Program. This role involves processing and monitoring travel for various organizational entities, ensuring compliance with federal regulations and internal procedures. The position is based at the DOE Office of Science Headquarters in Germantown, Maryland, and requires the use of automated travel systems to facilitate travel arrangements and training for staff.

Responsibilities

• Perform data entry and office automation functions for the DOE Office of Science's Travel Program.
• Process and monitor all aspects of travel using DOE/SC's computer-based automated travel system.
• Develop and provide training to SC federal staff/contractors on travel systems.
• Notify travelers of training requirements and monitor compliance.
• Enter data for foreign travel into FTMS and ensure timely approval of trips.
• Process electronic country clearances for travelers.
• Review travel data for accuracy on Travel Authorizations and Travel Vouchers.
• Verify traveler profiles and accounting codes in accordance with guidance.
• Generate reports in FTMS, CGE, and other travel systems to support the SC Travel Program.

Requirements

• High School diploma or GED.
• Experience using DOE corporate applications, specifically Concur Government Edition (CGE) and Foreign Travel Management System (FTMS).
• Valid driver's license and proof of U.S. citizenship.
• Ability to pass a background investigation for a Secret Security Clearance.
• Proficiency in English (reading, writing, and speaking).
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office and general office equipment.
