American Medical Staffing is seeking a travel Surgical Technologist for a travel job in Winchester, Virginia. This position is designed for an Allied Health Professional specializing in surgical technology, with a start date of September 16, 2024, and a duration of 13 weeks. The role requires a commitment of 40 hours per week, with shifts scheduled for 10 hours during the day. As a travel Surgical Technologist, you will be responsible for assisting in surgical operations, ensuring that the operating room is sterile and prepared for procedures, and providing support to the surgical team throughout the operation. Responsibilities

  • Assist in surgical operations by preparing the operating room and ensuring all necessary equipment is available and sterile.
  • Support the surgical team during procedures by passing instruments and supplies as needed.
  • Maintain a sterile environment throughout the surgical process to prevent infections.
  • Monitor the patient's condition during surgery and report any changes to the surgical team.
  • Participate in the cleaning and restocking of the operating room after procedures.
  • Assist with patient positioning and draping before surgery begins.

Requirements

  • Current certification as a Surgical Technologist from an accredited program.
  • Minimum of 1 year of experience in a surgical setting, preferably in an operating room environment.
  • Ability to work flexible hours and adapt to changing schedules.
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively in a team environment.
  • Knowledge of surgical procedures and protocols.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience with specific surgical specialties such as orthopedics, neurology, or cardiovascular surgery.
  • Bilingual skills to communicate with a diverse patient population.
  • Familiarity with electronic medical records (EMR) systems.
