About the position

MedPro Healthcare Allied Staffing is seeking a travel Surgical Technologist for a travel job in Winchester, Virginia. This position is designed for a qualified Surgical Technologist to assist clinical staff by performing a variety of support functions that facilitate the delivery of surgical and procedural services to patients. The Surgical Technologist will be responsible for the timely preparation of operating rooms for surgical procedures, ensuring that all necessary instruments and equipment are ready and sterile. This role requires effective communication with other care providers, including physicians, nurses, and unit staff, to ensure continuity of patient care and to meet the needs of the customers served. The Surgical Technologist will perform duties under the direct supervision of the registered nurse circulator and will be accountable for their individual practice. This position is a travel role, requiring flexibility and adaptability to different healthcare environments and teams.

Responsibilities

  • Assist clinical staff by performing a variety of support functions to facilitate the delivery of surgical/procedural services to patients.
  • Prepare operating rooms for surgical procedures in a timely manner.
  • Perform additional assignments as requested by the team when workload or area of specialty requires.
  • Communicate effectively with other care providers to ensure continuity of patient care.
  • Demonstrate dexterity in the use of surgical instruments and knowledge of various surgical procedures.

Requirements

  • 18 months of experience as a Surgical Technologist in an acute care setting.
  • High School Diploma or completion of an accredited Operating Room Technologist course or equivalent training.
  • BLS Certified and National Certification required.
  • Ability to demonstrate dexterity in the use of surgical instruments.
