About the position

Clean Harbors is seeking a Traveling Field Inspector. The Field Inspector will complete response actions involving Release Abatement Measures, Immediate Response Actions and Phase I and II investigations at hazardous waste sites. The work will primarily be in Massachusetts. Periodically, the Field Inspector will assist the project team with completing inspection, sampling, and monitoring events at North American Clean Harbors and other facilities. Employee will need to be open to nationwide travel if needed, up to 6 weeks at a time.

Responsibilities

  • Ensuring that Health and Safety is the number one priority by complying with all safe work practices, policies, and processes and acting in a safe manner at all times
  • Provides assistance on small to midsize, technically complex projects involving groundwater sampling, waste site cleanup and construction, building, and equipment decontamination
  • Prepares data tables and written reports
  • Acts as an agent of the business and assists with developing relationships with key customers and understanding customer issues
  • Oversee technicians in order to meet project objectives and project budget expectations
  • Provides technical support to field service offices. Is part of the on-call rotation
  • Manages procurement for projects including materials, equipment rental, temporary labor, and subcontractors
  • Provides timely, concise and relevant information to superiors and subordinates
  • Provides technical support for proposal preparation, project cost estimates, and subcontractor selection and procurement
  • Performs other duties and tasks as assigned from time to time by management and will be required by the needs of the Clean Harbors business

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or equivalent is required
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Environmental Sciences, or related disciplines required
  • Be safety orientated and have a commitment to safety
  • Willing to do manual labor
  • Willing to work outside in all kinds of weather, utilizing prescribed Personal Protective Equipment
  • Valid DL and clean MVR required
