About the position

The Traveling Manager of Construction will oversee the construction of new retail locations and remodels for a rapidly growing retail franchisee. This role involves mentoring a team of construction project managers, ensuring quality standards, budget adherence, and timely project completion across various locations in the U.S. and Canada.

Responsibilities

  • Manage projects and schedules to ensure completion dates are met.
  • Develop and coach team members to improve their skills.
  • Manage architectural/engineering documentation from concept to store opening.
  • Oversee all aspects of the construction process with contractors and vendors.
  • Execute construction management systems to meet schedules and budgets.
  • Drive sales revenues by meeting store opening dates.
  • Follow a formal construction bid review process for approval.
  • Adhere to project cost control procedures and track expenditures.
  • Execute project closeout procedures to meet contract requirements.
  • Review job progress for quality and timeliness, performing post-construction recaps.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in building construction, construction management, civil engineering, or architecture.
  • 8+ years' experience in big box, fitness facilities, restaurant, or specialty retail store planning and construction.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office suite.
  • Experience managing a large volume of work with extensive travel during peak periods.
  • Strong time management and prioritization skills.
  • Experience maintaining budgets.
