About the position

The Traveling Operations Manager at Capstone Logistics is responsible for overseeing project management processes, engaging with internal clients to define project objectives, and ensuring successful delivery of IT solutions. This role involves leading geographically dispersed teams, managing project resources, and maintaining stakeholder relationships to meet project goals within agreed time, scope, and budget. The position requires strong analytical skills, knowledge of Agile methodologies, and the ability to coach and mentor team members.

Responsibilities

  • Engage with internal clients to define project objectives and map requirements.
  • Create business cases for project concepts and gain stakeholder approval.
  • Align tasks into a manageable work breakdown structure and lead project delivery.
  • Create project events and ceremonies, including Agile SCRUM ceremonies.
  • Support the creation and maintenance of User Stories with Acceptance Criteria.
  • Manage project work and resources for timely completion.
  • Perform project management processes including initiation, planning, execution, monitoring, and closure.
  • Communicate with project teams, management, customers, and stakeholders.
  • Provide weekly status reporting for key IT initiatives and deliverables.
  • Proactively identify risks and issues on projects and develop management plans.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related field, or 1 year of relevant project management experience.
  • Strong project management skills and experience with software development projects.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Project and MS Office suite.
  • Knowledge of Agile methodologies and business analysis tools.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

Nice-to-haves

  • CPM or PPM certification and training in negotiation/facilitation skills.
  • 3-5 years of experience in the logistics industry or similar.
