About the position

The Traveling Project Engineer will play a crucial role in managing and executing commercial healthcare construction projects across Nashville and the Southwest. This position offers an excellent opportunity for growth within a leading national construction management firm, specializing in innovative healthcare and commercial projects.

Responsibilities

  • Assisting in the planning, management, and execution of commercial healthcare construction projects.
  • Coordinating with project managers, architects, and other construction professionals to ensure projects are completed on time and within budget.
  • Reviewing and interpreting architectural plans and specifications to ensure project requirements are met.
  • Managing and tracking project resources, including materials, equipment, and labor.
  • Implementing and maintaining quality control procedures to ensure projects meet industry standards and client expectations.
  • Conducting regular site inspections and safety audits to ensure compliance with health and safety regulations.
  • Preparing and presenting project progress reports to stakeholders.
  • Resolving any on-site issues or disputes that may arise during the construction process.
  • Coordinating tenant improvements and renovations as required.

Requirements

  • A minimum of 2 years of experience in commercial healthcare construction, specifically with ground-up construction, tenant improvements (TI), and renovations.
  • A Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field is preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of construction methods, materials, and legal regulations.
  • Excellent project management skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to make decisions under pressure.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with a diverse team.
  • Proficiency in construction software, such as AutoCAD, Revit, and Microsoft Project.
  • A strong commitment to safety and a thorough understanding of health and safety regulations.
  • Ability to travel to construction sites as needed.
