About the position

Westmor Industries is seeking a Traveling Technician who will play a crucial role in servicing, calibrating, commissioning, troubleshooting, and repairing a variety of meters, pumps, registers, and other petroleum equipment. This position requires a strong mechanical aptitude and the ability to work independently while adhering to safety regulations and policies. The Traveling Technician will be responsible for maintaining accurate performance and maintenance records, as well as completing necessary DOT logs and paperwork. In addition to servicing equipment, the technician will start up and service tanker truck terminal load rack equipment, ethanol skids, and other petroleum equipment. The role also involves installing and repairing grounding and overfill prevention systems, conducting warranty work, performing annual inspections, and providing emergency service work as needed. Equipment testing to ensure proper operation is a key responsibility, and the technician should be prepared for 90% overnight weekday travel to various job sites. The ideal candidate will have a high school diploma or equivalent, with technical or trade school training being a plus. A valid State Driver's License is required, and the ability to obtain a commercial driver's license with a hazmat endorsement upon hire is essential. Candidates should possess experience in mechanical repair and troubleshooting, along with an analytical aptitude to effectively diagnose and resolve issues. Responsibilities

  • Service, calibrate, commission, troubleshoot and repair a variety of meters, pumps, registers, and other petroleum equipment.
  • Maintain required performance and maintenance records, and accurate DOT logs/paperwork.
  • Start up and service tanker truck terminal load rack equipment, ethanol skids, and other petroleum equipment.
  • Install and repair grounding and overfill prevention systems.
  • Conduct warranty work, annual inspections, and emergency service work.
  • Perform equipment testing to check operation.
  • Complete other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • High school graduate or equivalent; technical/trade school training is a plus.
  • Outstanding driving record with respect to observing driving regulations and federal/state/local motor vehicle laws.
  • Valid State Driver's License with the ability to obtain a commercial driver's license with hazmat endorsement upon hire.
  • Experience with mechanical repair and troubleshooting.
  • Analytical aptitude for diagnosing and resolving issues.
