About the position

The Store Opening Coordinator is responsible for overseeing all aspects of new store openings, including project management, team leadership, and ensuring efficient store setup. This role involves designing store layouts, coordinating staffing, and maintaining operational standards to achieve financial success during the opening process.

Responsibilities

  • Design and develop store layout to efficiently use space.
  • Revise store layout based on changing requirements and corporate initiatives.
  • Communicate with internal and external partners to keep projects on schedule.
  • Coordinate the purchase and setup of fixtures for the stores.
  • Ensure staffing needs are met by maintaining hiring standards and recruiting efforts.
  • Provide motivation and leadership to Team Leaders and Associates.
  • Implement procedures for effective store operations.
  • Ensure proper training is provided to newly hired Associates.
  • Complete required documentation for Associate time records and project plans.
  • Manage daily tasks and projects to meet deadlines.
  • Maintain a safe work environment.
  • Complete additional responsibilities as assigned.

Requirements

  • High School diploma or equivalent required.
  • Minimum of 1 year of retail experience in a supervisory role in a mid-size to large retail service-oriented business.
  • Experience in retail architecture or space planning preferred.
  • Bachelor's Degree in management preferred.
  • Ability to effectively communicate.
  • Ability to operate all necessary equipment for the job.
  • Ability to complete assignments in the time allotted.
