About the position

The Treasury Analyst at Group 1 Automotive is responsible for managing the company's treasury operations, which includes cash management, liquidity planning, risk management, and financial analysis. This role is critical in maintaining the financial stability and liquidity of the organization while minimizing financial risks. The position requires collaboration with the Assistant Treasurer and involves various treasury-related tasks to ensure effective financial operations.

Responsibilities

  • Works closely with the Assistant Treasurer to ensure liquidity and funding requirements are delivered consistent with Company practices.
  • Coordinates worldwide daily cash management activities, including monitoring corporate-wide daily cash positions and movement of funds internally and externally.
  • Designs, documents, and enhances financial models and forecasts to determine cash operation requirements.
  • Prepares and enhances daily and weekly cash reporting.
  • Manages daily reconciliation process, research, and troubleshoot issues related to payments, bank transmissions, debt, investments, and other cash management related issues.
  • Establishes treasury metrics, including monthly and quarterly reporting.
  • Assists with bank account administration, including opening and closing bank accounts, maintaining SOX and F-BAR related documentation.
  • Reviews bank account analysis statements monthly to ensure accuracy, identifies errors, and resolves quickly.
  • Assists with Letter of Credit issuance, maintenance, and payments.
  • Participates in the evaluation, recommendation and implementation of treasury automation and process improvements.
  • Responds and coordinates internal and external audit requests.
  • Supports treasury technology and system implementation initiatives and related projects.
  • Develops and maintains documentation of appropriate workflow and approval processes for SOX compliance.
  • Develops or revises policies and procedures related to functional responsibilities.
  • Assists in ad-hoc special projects related to all areas of Treasury.
  • Cross-trains and serves as back-up for treasury team.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field.
  • Proven experience in treasury operations and cash management.
  • Strong understanding of financial markets, banking products, and financial instruments.
  • Expertise in financial analysis and modeling.
  • Proficiency in ERP (Oracle), knowledge of banking platforms.
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate with cross-functional teams and external stakeholders.
  • Demonstrated leadership and team management capabilities.
  • Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel.
  • Emphasis on attention to detail and the ability to work well with financial information.

Nice-to-haves

  • A Master's degree or professional certification (e.g., CTP, CFA) is a plus.
