About the position

The Treasury Operations Specialist position at Veterans Sourcing Group is a critical role focused on treasury services, specifically indexing spreadsheets into a repository. This position is located in Johnston, RI, and is part of a pilot program aimed at improving operational efficiency and shortening overall cycle times. The primary responsibility involves handling customer names and Tax ID numbers (TINs) with a high degree of accuracy, as this indexed information will serve as the system of record. Given the high workload, attention to detail is paramount, and the role requires managing 25-30 documents or requests daily, with each indexing activity taking approximately 10-15 minutes. The position is expected to last for 5 months, with the possibility of extension, and operates on a full-time schedule from Monday to Friday, 8:30 AM to 5:00 PM. In addition to indexing, the Treasury Operations Specialist will be involved in reviewing documentation and requests for accuracy, self-managing their workload while maintaining an understanding of overall work volume, and completing requests within established service level agreements (SLAs). The role also emphasizes strong customer service attitudes and values, requiring the individual to communicate effectively with the Implementation Manager regarding any returned requests. The position supports efforts to streamline operations and improve customer service, contributing to a culture of continuous improvement within the team. Training for this role includes procedures and shadowing an experienced colleague for 3-4 days, with initial training conducted onsite. There is potential for hybrid work arrangements later in the contract. The ideal candidate will possess strong verbal and written communication skills, proficiency in Microsoft applications, particularly Excel, and a reliable work ethic. Experience with cash management products is preferred but not mandatory.
